9th Hockey India Junior Women National Hockey Championship 2019 at Kollam

The inaugural function start with the welcome speech of Mr.V Sunil Kumar, President of Kerala Hockey. The Governor of Kerala expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome given to him for the inauguration and as part of his joy he spent some time with the players inside the ground and even he took the hockey stick and hit the ball for some time. He met the players of Kerala Hockey and Hockey Telengana players before the match and have given best wishes for both the team.The Inauguration was attended by Shri. E P Jayarajan, Hon’ble Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Kerala, Shri. K Raju, Hon’ble Minister for Forest and Smt. J MercykuttyAmma, Hon’ble Minister for Fisheries.All of them given best wishes to the organizers for conducting the tournament smoothly.The presence of Olympian and Captian of Indian Hockey Team Shri. P R Sreejesh has given a big boost for the players. It was nice to see the players interacting with Sreejesh and collecting autographs from him. He spent lot of time in the ground with different teams and even he was giving tips for the several teams which he interacted.

The closing ceremony for the 9th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2019 started soon after the finals between Hockey Jharkhand and Hockey Haryana. Hockey Jharkhand become the winners for the 9th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2019.
The closing Ceremony Inaugurated by Adv. V. RajendraBabu, Mayor, Corporation of Kollam. Welcome speech done by the General Secretary of Kerala Hockey Shri. R. Ayyappan. Presidential speech done by the President of Kerala Olympic Association and Kerala Hockey Shri. V. Sunil Kumar. Felicitation done by the Honorary Secretary of Kerala Olympic Association Shri. S. Rajiv. The prizes for the Winners, Runners Up and others were handed over by the famous film actresses of kerala film industry, Smt. Gouthami Nair and Smt. Bhama. The prizes for the Best Schools performed in the procession and the Winners of the Painting competition were also distributed in the function.
Shri.VinodLal, President of Kollam Hockey also participated in the function as a Special Invitee. The function wasconcluded with the Vote of Thanks from Shri. C. T. Soji, Treasurer of Kerala Hockey.

10th Hockey India Senior Women NationalChampionship 2020A & B Division

Mushthak Ahamad President of Hockey India, Shri. K Raju, Hon’ble Minister for Forest and Smt. J Mercykutty Amma, Hon’ble Minister for Fisheries, Shri.Bolanath Singh, Executive Member of IOA.

Dr. Narender Dhruv Batraji

        The most auspicious occasion of this National Championship was the presence of Dr. Narender Dhruv Batraji – President of FIH and President of Indian Olympic Association on 2nd February 2020. To receive him the entire Kollam City arranged a huge Civic reception in the evening. After the reception he visited the players and officials in the Stadium and motivated them. His visit was a memorable moment in the History of Kollam City and Sports fraternity in Kerala.

The closing ceremony for the 10th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2020 started soon after the finals between SAI and Hockey Haryana. Hockey Haryana become the winners for the 10th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2020.The closing Ceremony Inaugurated by Honey Banjamin, Mayor, Corporation of Kollam. Welcome speech done by the President of Kerala Olympic Association and Kerala Hockey Shri. V.Sunil Kumar. The prizes for the Winners, Runners Up and others were handed over by Smt.Honey Banjamin, Mayor, Corporation of Kollam. Shri. Vinod Lal, President of Kollam Hockey also participated in the function as a Special Invitee. The function was concluded with the Vote of Thanks from Shri. C. T. Soji, Treasurer of Kerala Hockey.

Hockey Haryana Team with Trophy -Winner of 10th Hockey India National Women Championship 2020 @ Kollam

Hockey India had allotted A and B division 10th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship to Kerala Hockey for the year 2019-2020. The scheduled dates for the conduct of this Championship was from 23rd January to 9th February 2020 at Kollam. The Venue of this Nationals was at New Hockey Stadium, Kollam. As per the schedule released by Hockey India, 25 teams in B division and 19 teams in A division were expected to participate in this Championship. As per this schedule Kerala Hockey had made all preparation for the Teams and Officials who are participating in this event which include local transport, Accommodation, Food and Medical facilities in the venue. In this connection Kerala Hockey had constituted various Committees for the smooth conduct of this event. Hon’ble Minister for Forests Sri K.Raju inaugurated the National Championship in the presence of Sri Musthaq Ahmad, President , Hockey India. March past of participating teams were also held in connection with the inauguration function.


‘B’ Division Championship commenced on 23rd January and final was on 1st February 2020. Sahastra Seema Bal won the B division Championship by defeating Steel Plant Sports Board. UCO Bank Women’s Academy defeated Bangaluru Hockey and attained third position.


On 30th January, A division Competition started.
Hockey Haryana, Hockey Maharashtra, Sports Authority of India and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy entered Semi-finals. Hockey Haryana defeated Sports Authority of India and won the title. Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy defeated Hockey Maharashtra and attained third position.

Trophies to the winners were distributed by Honourable Mayor of Kollam Smt Honey Benjamin in the closing ceremony.
