KERALA HOCKEY is the recognized body to Manage, Control, and Administer the game of Hockey in the State and it is recognized by Kerala State Sports Council. Kerala Hockey is the member unit of ‘Hockey India’, the National Hockey Federation. It is a registered society in the State formed to develop the Game of Hockey. It came into existence on 24th August 2014. The first President and General Secretary of Kerala Hockey was M/s Mariyamma Koshy (who has also adorned the post of Presidentship in Hockey India) and Francis K Paul. Kerala State Sports Council recognized Kerala Hockey as its affiliated member from 21st July 2017
HOCKEY INDIA (HI) is the apex body of the country which has the sole mandate to govern and conduct all activities for both men and women hockey in India. It is recognized as National Sports Federation by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India vide letter no. F.No.32-14/2013-SP-III dated 28 February 2014 as the sole body responsible for promoting Hockey in India.
Formed on May 20, 2009, it is also affiliated with the International Hockey Federation (FIH), the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), and Asian Hockey Federation (AHF).
With the assistance of Sports Authority of India and Department of Sports, Government of India, Hockey India has drawn out a Long-Term Development Programme (LTDP) to train players and to provide overseas exposure besides the regular international competition. It is committed to getting our teams into the top six in the world.
